Siemens NX Training for Northrop Grumman E-2 Hawkeye Suppliers

Swoosh Technologies & Solutions, a Siemens PLM Software partner, has announced its training program for Northrop Grumman E-2 Hawkeye suppliers.

Swoosh Technologies & Solutions, a Siemens PLM Software partner, has announced its training program for Northrop Grumman E-2 Hawkeye suppliers. Northrop is transitioning its E-2 engineering program from Dassault Systeme's CATIA to Siemens PLM's NX 8. As a Siemens PLM enablement partner for the NG Supply Chain, Swoosh Technologies will deliver the NG Transition Support Program (NGTSP) per NG requirements. Swoosh Technologies will provide on-going support thought-out the transition period.

The Northrop Grumman NX training is specifically designed for NG suppliers and will cover topics related to receiving and utilizing data from the JDU module (this will replace Encapta) supplied by NG.

The following training courses are currently scheduled in Long Island, NY for the coming months. These courses are designed to highlight the specific requirements of the NG suppliers utilizing Siemens NX (UG) software.

Northrop Grumman NX 8 CAD (TR10300-NG)

This course is specifically designed for Northrop Grumman suppliers and will cover topics related to receiving and utilizing data from the JDU module supplied by NG. This course is intended for experienced, proficient users of other (non-NX) CAD systems, and covers the primary areas of NX CAD application. It is a fast-paced course in which the student will learn how to create models, assemblies, and drawings in NX. This course may be delivered in the Teamcenter Environment.

Course Topics include: NX user interface, sketching, feature modeling, datums, detail features, feature Editing, free form modeling, assemblies, interpart modeling, synchronous modeling, drafting, and data exchange.

Northrop Grumman NX 8 Sheet Metal (TR10550-NG)

This course is focuses on the usage of the NX Sheet Metal applications for the design of both straight brake and contoured sheet metal parts.

Course topics include: setting sheet metal preferences, establishing base features, creating flanges, creating corner configurations, adding deformable cutouts, unbending and rebending flanges, creating punch-type features, creating flat patterns, establishing sheet metal standards, and converting models into sheet metal models.

Northrop Grumman NX 8 Mill Manufacturing Fundamentals (TR20300-NG)

This course is intended for experienced NC programmers that are new to NX CAM. This class will accelerate the understanding of creating tool paths for 2 and 3 axis milling/drilling centers within NX. Other cutting and non-cutting motions will be explored. This course also focuses on the creation and post processing of NX operations.

Course topics include: manufacturing user interface, machining coordinate systems, model concepts for manufacturing, tools, face milling, visualization of tool paths, planar milling operations, drilling operations, cavity milling, fixed contour operations, z-level milling, IPW and rest, libraries, post processing, and shop documentation.

Northrop Grumman NX 8 Multi Axis Machining (TR20350-NG)

This course provides advanced NC programming techniques for NC programmers who program 4 and 5 axis parts. It continues to build on the Manufacturing Fundamentals training course by introducing multi axis operations and advanced machining operations. This course will also cover how Northrop Grumman suppliers will utilize the data from the JDU module supplied by NG.

Course topics include: 5-axis Z-Level, sequential mill basics & advanced, variable axis contour milling, profiling walls with a variable tool axis, advanced non-cutting moves, wave geometry linker in Manufacturing, refixturing and the in process workpiece, hole milling, thread milling, optimize to drive methods, and generic motion and probing operations.
